Some truths about therapy...
Therapy is a very unique journey! One format or script may not work for everyone. At Autumn Living Therapy, the goal is to tailor the therapeutic experience to your individual goals and highlight your strengths. Your unique narrative is what drives the session to become curious and look deeper to the root of the issue.

Therapy is a relationship! I seek to provide a safe space for you to feel comfortable to open up and be your true self during our time together. The therapeutic relationship is meant to be a lasting relationship which is particularly focused on you as the client, and depending on your goals, focused on healing from the past, staying more in the present, or becoming the best version of yourself for the future. Through the relationship, we will seek to work on these goals together.

There doesn’t need to be a timeline for therapy! While some therapy is structured for 15-20 sessions, we know one size doesn’t fit all. As therapy is more of a relationship, there doesn’t need to be a timeline for how often or for how long you see a therapist. Once you’ve worked through your initial concerns, you may discover other presenting discoveries you’d like to continue to speak about or you may just want to schedule timely follow-ups or check-ins. Either or is fine with us!

Therapy isn’t a “quick fix” solution. Sometimes when we’ve been carrying heavy loads for too long, it takes time to heal and repair. Therapy should be going at a pace you are comfortable with and not faster than you can tolerate.
The Process
Attending therapy is a collaborative and supportive process designed to help you better understand yourself and navigate life’s challenges. It typically begins with an initial session where we explore your concerns, goals, and what you hope to gain from therapy. From there, we’ll meet regularly in a safe, confidential space to talk through your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Over time, therapy seeks to help you become more self-aware, build insight, and develop coping strategies. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you. Therapy evolves with you-no rush, no pressure.
